15th January ,2016: It was 15th of December when my dearest friend Bijita, came to visit my place for the first time. Both of us were selected for presenting papers in YETI conference (17th-20th Jan)at Amity University Delhi. So, we had few days to stay together and have as much fun as possible. Though it was first phase of my first trimester, and i was really unwell still, I enjoyed, celebrated with both of my closest friends (hubby and Biji), and third one silently growing inside me . Sankranti means festival of new harvest harvest. Its is celebrated in on last day of the Indian Month Poush ( 14th or 15th of January), in different names, with different ways but with all traditional delicacies, such as Lohri in Punjab, Bhoagli Bihu in Assam, Poush Parbon in Bengal, Pongal in South India. I made few bengali traditional pithas like Aloor Pitha, Chanar Pitha, Malpua, Patisapta, Tiler naru, doodh puli with powered rice, jaggery, mawa, maida, teel, suji and gram powder. Biji brought loads of traditional teelpitas with her. We shared pithas, visited historical places of delhi, had pujab da spl makke di roti, sarsoo da saag in Pummi's famous punjabi food joint and after that, next few day remained bound in the hectic schedule of YETI (Young Ecologists Talk and Interact) Conference. We had to travel for about 2hrs, each day to reach the venue, i.e, Amity University, Noida. Those were the chilled days of new year and being in first trimester of pregnancy, It was really difficult for me to attend the conference forgetting about all these barriers. I used to carry a two litre bottle of glucose water, a packet of biscuit and an apple with me. With strong confidence and support from parents, hubby and Bijita, I did that. Enjoyed everything, celebrated everything and finally presented a paper successful.. My special thanks are due to my baby, who continuously gave me strength and still now,, she is my power.. my energy...forever
